Seems like MVPD only knows how to react to crimes than prevent them while the people in the Pink Palace tie one hand behind their backs.

I'll call my insurance company before I call MVPD for anything.

Terrible. A gang is out there causing mayhem while the Mountain View are police are asleep at the wheels. People paying super high prices for living in these neighborhoods deserve better. I understand the Police can't be everywhere all the time. But gangs don't do this just randomly. Hit and smash 20 cars is a well planned crime. Terrible. I hope the victims question the Police department and hold their feet to the fire.

Smash-and-grabs don't happen if you park your car in the garage, so maybe we shouldn't be so quick to blame the police department.

The police are doing their job. It's not their job to "police" people who aren't using common sense when they leave electronics in their car.

Very upset,
I understand that you are upset but we need to do our part. If you leave valuables in your car in a public or private place where people have access you are asking for trouble. These burglaries are planned with multiple bad guys. I wouldn’t be surprised it all 20 cars were hit in 10 minutes. I don’t feel our officers are asleep at the wheel. This is an epidemic that is happening all over the county. If you must blame someone, besides the bad guys/gals, look no further then your state legislature for taking the teeth out of property crime laws. These burglars are caught and released days later to victimize again!

What this “do not leave the valuables in the car” is about?
Whoever is doing smash and grab 20 times at night in the same neighborhood, they do not have time to check if valuables in the car before they smash. Even if there was no valuables in the car, you still have broken window to repair.

A group of 3 or 4 could easily fan out, and hit cars with valuables worth stealing. They did not happen all at once "1, 2, 3 smash!"
It was likely multiple people over the course of hours.
Regardless of that though, the BEST defense is still don't leave anything in your car.

Anecdotally, there will always be those who got windows broken with nothing in the car, but that is rare in comparison to actual theft of valuables.

Even if it's not 100% protection, not leaving valuables in your car is the best way to avoid being a victim, and leaving valuables in your car is the best way to become one.

This is really shocking to see such burglaries in neighborhoods which were so safe earlier. We are witnessing a slow decline in quality of life every single day - homeless tents, un-affordable prices and crimes increasing.

When are we going to hold our politicians accountable? We keep electing the same failed leaders who do nothing but is making California unlivable for the middle class.

When are we going to demand that our elected leaders give priority to community safety and empower our law enforcement? Until we do this, this spate of crime will only increase. Day won't be far off when live even in suburbs become unlivable like in San Francisco which is full of drugs, human waste and crime infested neighborhood.

Citizens really need to wake up now and demand a better government in California

The ones that blame the police for “not doing their jobs”, are the same ones that voted yes on prop 47, the root cause of what got us into this mess.....
