Atherton couple pleads guilty in college-admissions scam

The former CEO of a Palo Alto venture-capital firm and his wife changed their pleas to guilty on Monday in the largest college-admissions scandal in U.S. Department of Justice history.

I think the people found guilty in this scandal should not only serve some sort of jail time, but to be fined the maximum amount possible. The money collected in fines should go to under-represented students for their college fund assistance. It's a disgrace that the rich think they can just buy whatever they want. It's time to teach them a lesson!

With the steep decline in personal sewing machines, what was Singer to do? CNN just aired a special on college admissions. Reportedly, it has always been a racket. Admissions are geared to making money for the college - near and long-term (including from alumni).
