Suspect in Rancho San Antonio hit-and-run is denied bail

A woman suspected of hit-and-run at Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve on Tuesday, killing one person and injuring another, was denied bail during her arraignment hearing Friday afternoon in Santa Clara County Superior Court.

Why did she ram these people? Did she know them? Is she a drug-addict? A drunk? A career criminal? Mentally ill?

There are not public answers at this point, for good reason, but the details will come. She has the look of a lot of those religious wackos who see demons in people and...well, speculation will lead us to everywhere except the answer. We'll just have to wait for the details. If there's truly no connection, mental illness seems likely.

This article says that prosecutors have not figured out a motive yet (as of Friday), and that the victim was a chess player, gardener, and GPS specialist with close friends. My heart goes out to them. Article: Web Link
