The meddling by the council and planning has been a hindrance to development. The less involvement with the city, the better.

Bullshit. Chris Clark, you should know better.
Very few people actually live within walking distance of their jobs. Especially around here where you can have a different job every couple of years.
I've had several jobs since I moved to Mountain View in 2001. Not a single one of them was in Mountain View. That wasn't by choice, but by necessity. I'm fortunate that at the moment my commute is 15 minutes to Cupertino, but my company is moving to Fremont in 6 months, and THAT location on I-880 has NO housing within walking distance.
It's fallacious to assume or even argue that more housing will allow people to walk to work. If that's true at all, it will be for a small minority.
And if Sobrato is proposing rental units rather than homes people can own, the City Council should quash that proposal immediately. We do NOT need more rental housing in Mountain View.

Developers need to follow the rules instead of violating them.
We live in a fantasy world. Mountain view’s Location makes it an ideal commute location. Period. Adding more hooding eill only make it more congested..
Our high minimum wage has attracted and increasing number of day laborers and homeless folks.
What happened to honesty and integrity in this town?

This has been a problem for all of California.
Policies are created due to good reasons.
But when they are expendable, the state and local governments give the ones that want offend them a pass.
This was the reason why Microsft and Dynamex cases regarding independent contractor being misclassified when they were employees took more than 30 years to finally be cleared up.
AB 5 about time.
The policies are nothing but illusions until they are properly and equally enforced.
