Bill that would provide overnight parking for homeless community college students pushed to next legislative session

The author of legislation that would require California community colleges to open their parking lots overnight to homeless students has delayed the bill's vote in response to amendments he said watered down its purpose.

These students are under great stress trying to succeed academically, without stable housing. They are trying, through their education, to better themselves and their community as well. I think the "not within 250' of a school" is extremely insulting to them. Please don't taint these students with the same negatives we do see in some of the quite different population of car/RV dwellers we see on the streets of surrounding cities!

The college districts objected that they would need more money for security and other costs of turning community college campuses into vehicle-living places for all enrollees. What times would they come and go? All times?
