NASA women's leadership summit hosts Pelosi, Eshoo

Original post made on Aug 29, 2019

It was a mix of corporate executives and political heavyweights, global thought leaders and scientific stars. And by no coincidence, the hundreds squeezed in the room were almost all women.

Sub headline: “Despite gains, women still face inequality”

How about first, have women sign up for selective service just like men have to.

I also have a problem with Jim Bridenstiens comment that there WILL be a woman on the next flight to the moon. What if the most qualified are men? Is it fair if they promote a woman ahead of a man just for equality?

How about first, have men give birth, like women do?

Poor Jake. So oppressed. There must be somewhere safe for you to go, just Tobe, you know, safe.

There's only one type of person that fights a quality. The person who has had more than his fair share already...

@Ok, sounds good! Let’s have men give birth first. Oh wait, they can’t. If you actually want to debate or argue my point, please use facts.

@Tootsie, I’m not in need of a safe place. And in response to your second statement, it could also be argued that someone that fights “ a quality” also has too much time on their hand.

So the “transient” who assaulted the woman at 24 Hour... And then was caught in the Walmart parking lot. Is he a vehicle dweller? It is a serious question. The Voice has used the term transient for the RV dwellers.

Did he have a membership at 24 Hour, or did they let him walk right in? There is often nobody checking at that hour. 24 Hour has some explaining to do.

@Ok: “How about first, have men give birth like women do?”

Nope, that is a false equivalence. Giving birth is a choice; registering for Selective Service is an obligation. Therefore, being able to give birth shouldn’t exempt women from selective service registration.

> registering for Selective Service is an obligation.

An unpublicized obligation, with low rates of compliance. I don't know what the rates are in CA, but other states fall as low as 50%. iirc, the Dakotas were about 60%.

An odd way to posit for inequality.

Again, if memory serves, the last prosecution for failure to register was under Clinton?

Men! Look at their BURDEN! No wonder women only get 70% of the pay that men deserve!

Geez... ownership. Useless draft registration equals lower pay, misogyny, giving birth.... geez.

Thank gods for choice! No women forced to have babies here!
