Oh you are gonna hate this but those of us who go to Foothill have to suffer students who just don't bother to do the homework or read the assignments, who are rude to teachers and play with their phones in class. Should anyone subsidize or tolerate that behavior? Teachers are afraid to confront these losers.

So giving potential students a chance is a wonderful thing, but they must be made aware of their part of the bargain. If you go to Foothill, do the work. It really should not be a free ride.

What a deal. Why would anyone go to a UC or CSU for their first two years? Better teachers and classes at Foothill.

FYI, it’s not free. The government does not make
Anything. Those of us who are working 60-80
Hour work weeks are paying taxes to the state
And Federal government. The state and federal take about
35 percent of my income. If I am fortunate enough
To work so hard all year and I get a bonus the state of California
Takes 50% of my check. The more so called
Free stuff you get from college and health care
Will only result in all of us paying more and more
Taxes. By the time you graduate the taxes taken
will be even higher. Simple common sense. Also that’s just taxes
from your income. If you are able to purchase a home the government charges a high tax rate on your property too. Nothing is free!

I think that Foothill is one of the best, yet very underrated community colleges in California. Why go to UC or CSU if this place can give you much more in terms of knowledge and financial support? Anyway, that's a great initiative. I wish more colleges would do that.
