"The July 12 vigils are targeting reports of inhumane conditions in the camps, mass deportation and deaths at the border."

Just another campaign stunt by the Democrats, who for months denied there was a crisis at the border, and who refuse to vote for more funding to care for the illegals.

Love the Boomer logic: Trump creates a crisis at the border, so we need to spend more money to help him lock up more families in concentration camps. You'd have been the perfect Good German.

I’m confused. How did Trump create a crisis at the border?

Locking up kids in concentration camps - inadequate care, supervision and provisions. So American!

But lots of our tax money for the contractors!! Bet they charge us ten bucks for every bottle of water.

Trump had 2 years of complete GOP control to solve things. Nothing. Sad!

If you paid attention to something other than his tweets and Fox News, you'd already know the answer, "Help me". Trump created the crisis because there's absolutely no reason to lock up asylum-seeking families in concentration camps. His own regime admits that releasing people while they await their asylum hearing has an almost perfect hearing attendance rate. Because he wanted to hurt legal asylum-seekers, he is detaining them in concentration camps. Hence, the crisis of his creation. But don't let facts get in the way of your Boomer rage.

Again, put down the Fox News and try to educate yourself. These people are here legally, seeking asylum is entirely legal. They haven't been charged with any crime. Stop just listening to what these propaganda outlets are shoving down your throat and think for yourselves.

Yes, it is. And the poster above will never admit it.

Standing at the vigil last night, I saw hundreds of Mountain View residents on the corners. I saw well over a thousand people in cars expressing support for the vigil.

So it's interesting that the anonymous comments section here, and especially the anonymous "likes" are expressing such support for legally/ factually false positions that are basically political slogans. I'm calling BS on that. You want to see what people here really think, one person one vote, come to a vigil or look at legit opinion polls. Don't pay attention to anonymous game-able comments or partisan push polls as indicators of what real people really think.

As much as you want to insist contrary to all evidence, seeking asylum is entirely legal even if your asylum is denied.

Funny, I didn’t see any of these protests from 2009-2016 while the same situation existed.

I guess people’s stances on the so-called concentration camps “evolved,” to use the en vogue term.

I appreciate your resisting the urge to say "virtue-signaling," it must have been really difficult for you, but just because you weren't paying attention doesn't mean people weren't criticizing Obama for his immigration policies. Unfortunately, you're lying when you say the same situation existed." The concentration camps, family separation, and escalation of overcrowding conditions are a novelty from the Trump regime.

The sheer stupidity of protesting on behalf of illegal immigrants is striking to me. I worry when citizens and legal residents don’t understand the rule of law and the rights of countries to have borders and orderly systems of legal application to visit or immigrate. Meanwhile, I just went through Customs upon flying back into the U.S.
These are 99.9% economic “immigrants.” Their countries are sometimes oil-rich and not all have severe legitimate problems. Mexico loves the huge transfer of monies sent back there. There are corrupt politicians but the solution is not to throw our borders open wide.
Why?
- public health risk
- unidentified/uncorroborated identities with risk to this country (terrorism, exploitation, drug trafficking, gang activity, dependency)
- influx of illiterate and under-educated persons demanding special catering such as bi-lingual education, Section 8 housing, free medical care - see: CA Governor Gavin Newsom, who will soon be raising state income taxes and “fees” on American taxpayers to pay for such never-ending benefits.
This is not correct nor is it feasible. Contact your two Senators and other governmentbrepresentatives to protest “open borders” and “sanctuary city policies.” Enforce the rule of law.

One more time [Portion removed due to disrespectful comment or offensive language]
: it's legal to seek asylum, and these folks being put into concentration camps are following the law. They are not "illegal immigrants". Try to learn these things before lecturing people about "rule of law".

Politics aside. Stop comparing any of this [Portion removed due to disrespectful comment or offensive language] to the concentration camps of Nazi Germany. Trust me we're not working people to death, gassing, starving them or putting lead in their heads like they're not human. I understand the holding camps aren't fun but it's dismissive to refer to them as the same. Especially to the people who were actually in Nazi controlled camps.

"You will never admit it but 95% of the people claiming asylum are liars."

Fact free. Lovely. Prove it.

"Stop comparing any of this s*** to the concentration camps of Nazi Germany"

No one is comparing our concentration camps to Nazi death camps. They are two different things. As the American concentration camps of WWII for the Japanese were different than Nazi death camps.

"it's legal to seek asylum, and these folks being put into concentration camps are following the law."

True. Too bad people are illiterate.

It's amazing just how much people are willing to tolerate because they don't believe historic atrocities can occur in their own country. We're at the point where people are saying, sure they're bad, but at least they're not death camps!

"alleges what Trump and Russia supposedly did."

Russian attacked the 2016 election.

Proven. You are just too afraid to read the Mueller report or any American Intelligence Community reports.

In addition, those who don't understand history are doomed to repeat it. It's completely ahistorical to assume that Nazi concentration camps started out as death camps. The Nazi camps started out as detention centers. They didn't begin enactment of the "Final Solution" until 1941.

Only a Russian sympathizer would deny facts.”

Too true.
