LASD should try and get Target to swap with them. The Target site, on the other side of Showers Dr, would be a better site for a school, and the Kohl's site would be a better location for a newer nicer Target - similar to the 2-story Target in downtown Sunnyvale.

No, No, & NO!
PLEASE proceed with the purchase and keep the school on the Kohl's site as outlined for the benefit of our neighborhood given that we are the most impacted with the new high-rises and don't want our view of the mountains blocked! Service businesses like 24 Hour Fitness do not pay sales taxes.
WE NEED RETAIL AND ESPECIALLY STORES LIKE TARGET THAT SIGNIFICANTLY SUPPLEMENT THE LOCAL SCHOOL REVENUES! SUPPORTING RETAIL IS A VOTE TO SUPPORT OUR LOCAL SCHOOLS!

We fought to keep the Greystar project from cutting down our beloved Redwoods, to keep the apartments from overwhelming our neighborhood, and to preserve our view corridor. In exchange we were told we would receive play fields from the school and a park...now you want to take this away from us...sorry.
Please use the TDRs in Old Mountain View for high density housing!!

I can’t recall why, but the current Target site wasn’t an option for LASD. I agree that, for the school, it would be better as it’s not boxed in by busy roads.
Fear not (or fear), the ink is dry on the Kohl’s land purchase.

I hope that Kohl’s can relocate a store nearby so don’t have to drive to Milpitas. It has been a great local shopping option at San Antonio for when you need something nicer than Target or Walmart but don’t want to battle the traffic to one of the malls - has been handy for several last minute clothing purchases for our family.
