I guess not all vehicle dwellers in Mountain View are part of the hard working, low income crowd we've been told they are who bring such diversity to Mountain View.... . They must have seen the all welcome sign out at the intersection of California Ave and Shoreline with all the other vehicle dwellers and RVs lined up.

I would have loved to have met them.

Had they been sleeping in a sanctuary RV on Shoreline, this travesty would never have occurred.

Mountain View calls itself not a sanctuary city, but a "Freedom City"...I guess that means freedom to rip off your neighbors and freedom to receive free services from taxpaying citizens.

Could any of you folks here, with a straight face, tell me that all single-family home dwellers are hard-working, wonderful people? Because your comments and lack of humanity clearly indicate otherwise.

It’s only the beginning, the flood gate is open. You know it kills me to read city council stayed till 3am on this subject. They need to address this subject everyday till they come up with a solution. Our city council is useless.

WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE? is a registered user.

"vehicle also ALLEGEDLY contained burglary tools, stolen license plates and a suspected meth pipe." Why 'alleged'? Did the police 'imagine' they saw a meth pipe and burglary tools? Clearly these are not two transients just trying to find shelter, these are dangerous criminals.

SUV Reportedly stolen from WHICH neighboring community? Why not identify these two criminals? They are not minors, their photos and names should be published.

It is a disservice to the residents of Mountain View to protect the identity of these people, yes they were arrested but how long have they been in Mountain View and who are they? What is the backstory here?

I'm still waiting for an article where an RV dweller does something that positively contributes to the community they're occupying

It's easy to find them if you actually look.

Priced Out, don't try to sway them with inconvenient things like facts.

I'm more waiting for an article about a member of this rage-filled minority of Voice commenters doing something that positively contributes to the community they're occupying.

At this rate and this City Council In no time our streets will look like LA ‘S homeless populations.

@Interesting - I actually DID try to do something that positively contributed to the community and was lambasted for it as are many others. Maybe this is why all the hard working people are leaving and or/being priced out and the city is rapidly becoming home to either the ultra-wealthy or the "welcome/sanctuary" poor.

Jim, I appreciate your having the self-awareness to identify yourself as "a member of this rage-filled minority of Voice commenters." Unfortunately, there's no participation trophy for trying to do something.

On the other hand, we could possibly count your moving to Modesto as a positive contribution to Mountain View, the community you temporarily occupied.

@ Jake O. Property owners are not occupying anything. They purchased the land they live on and are paying taxes on it. Strong Property rights are a foundation of this country. The homeless literally defacate on those rights and as pointed out by others mentioning the LA situation bring communicable disease like typhus and TB to our community, not to mention crime. There are many areas of the county in which work is available and housing costs less that the homeless can move to.
