City hits pause on gatekeeper process

Original post made on Jun 20, 2019

Out of fears that city staff are getting burned out from overwork, Mountain View leaders are pulling up the drawbridge on the city's gatekeeper process, delaying most projects for at least a year.

I am relieved by this announcement. Yes, give the city staff a break but also give Mountain View residents a break from all the construction, traffic, dirt, and noise associated with all of this. I am all for progress but jeesh....I am weary of all the constant construction intrusion. I don't know about others but I have serious construction fatigue!

This makes me happy, a pause in mad mad overdevelopment, at least for a year. I hope conditions change and we here in Mountain View can relax into the future without not more crowding, no more added smog, and not more traffic.
I guess the developers think we have an infinite supply of water and clean air. Actually none of them live here, just stick it to us and more on. Let’s stop the madness!

This City has been acting like an old western.

They don't do anything to fix the problem they made in the first place.

Then expect a "lone ranger" to ride into town and magically solve their problems.

Our city council resembles the town in Blazing Saddles.

"You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers These are people of the land The common clay of the new West You know...."

That's all. 

Bad move. This does NOTHING to help the housing crisis. The city could easily hire more staff if it passed along the cost in fees to the gate keeper developers.
