Smiles but sadness as Milk Pail says goodbye

As a way to say goodbye, Milk Pail owner Steve Rasmussen and his family threw a party as one last hurrah. And the event went off with a bang -- hundreds of people made a pilgrimage to see the store at least one last time.

Los Altos Parent Preschool just closed as well. It's a very different community at this point, and I'm sad for the changes.

Mountain View has become a very affluent and international city. The charector of the city has changed and not for the better. The divide between the haves and have nots is stark. There is sadness in seeing the demise of a business which reflected the old Mountain View; but all things end.
