Longview is a registered user.
The most important statement in this article is that vehicle dwellers are residents. Sleeping in vehicles is vastly better than homeless encampments, for the unhoused and for our whole community. Expanding safe parking is good. Prohibiting large vehicle street parking in the whole city is a poor plan, and probably illegal. I was so disappointed when the no parking at night signs went up on Leghorn St. behind Costco. The RV's previously parked there were no problem to anyone in this light industrial area of small repair shops and storage facilities. I hope those signs come down. I hope the Mountain View Council finds parking answers rather than a parking prohibition.

I completely agree with IdaRose and Dave. I suggested the registration idea to the city council a couple years ago. There are plenty of processes in place now that could be used to do the registration. The city should not ban living in vehicles unless there is safe parking available for everyone who needs it.
