Yes, the criminal justice system should be applied to all those subject to its jurisdiction. As with the criminal justice system, the immigration enforcement system should also be applied to those subject to its jurisdiction. Both systems are subject to law that guards against abuse. The opinion that enforcement within the immigration system is somehow immoral is a valid subjective argument. Arguably immoral strategies to limit illegal immigration are now being tested in courts and have lead to broad indignation. Immigration law is, however, akin to criminal law, subject to judicial oversight. Now comes the crux of the dilemma. Some jurisdictions find immigration law contrary to the views of their consistency. To counter this, policies are enacted that limit local cooperation with immigration enforcement. This is a plausible strategy if one understands that minimizing cooperation can create negative consequences as seen in Santa Clara County. The resistance to enforcement of a lesser immigration law has allowed a serious felony. One can not deny the connection and must be responsible for the consequence. It will be argued that immigrants commit serious crimes at a lesser level than citizens. Nonetheless, this felony would not have happened except for the passive resistance embodied by sanctuary policies. For this reason, immigration enforcement and criminal law can not be treated separately as argued by the advocates of sanctuary policies.

The reality is that Sanctuary for violent undocumented criminals.

1) Murder of Bambi Larson by Carlos Eduardo Arevalo Carranza. ICE asked multiple times for the county to hand Carolos over and the county refused.
2) Murder of multiply police officers by undocumented, who had previous DUI or domestic violence arrests.
3) Rape of 74 year old woman in San Francisco by Manuel Amador. He dragged here into an empty house and raped her for 4-5 hours. His pitbull also attacked the wom.

So why lie to the law biding public about sanctuary policy? The twisted morality risks the well being of the rest of us.
