Maybe they were complaining about the overpriced subsidized units the council approved last Tuesday?

Voice, if you are going to delete factual comments because "some people find it offensive" Then please delete this story as I find it very offensive and anti-American.

My, we sure do have a group of divisive people in our community.

Does housing justice mean no property taxes for all?

Fear not! The City Council just approved 70 "low cost" units.

Should be ready by 2021!

Nothing to see here people. Keep moving.

I would love to be able to afford to live in Atherton. Maybe I'll go protest, peacefully, in front of their city offices.

Otto, I'm glad to hear you're taking political action. Atherton has a Caltrain station, yet has strongly anti-development land-use laws. I'm not sure what you personally would get out of having the same housing situation you currently have, only in Atherton, but I respect your dedication. Something that would go even further would be to support the More HOMES Act at the state level, which would ensure that exclusionary cities like Atherton build their fair share of housing.

@RG
"ensure that exclusionary cities like Atherton build their fair share of housing"? What exactly does that mean? When were you elected arbiter of fairness for the country?

When a city decides that it is only going to build just so much housing, it means that they are concerned for the citizens they have and their quality of life. Why should they bend to the will of a person who doesn't even live there regarding how many people they can handle?

When people move to any location, they should determine if they can afford to live there. It isn't the responsibility of the city to make costs less for some people. That is inherently unfair. Why should some people pay more for what others get for less? When did it become a crime to fulfill the American Dream?

Stop setting people against each other. There is nothing criminal or unjust about expecting people to earn what they get.
