Otto, I'm glad to hear you're taking political action. Atherton has a Caltrain station, yet has strongly anti-development land-use laws. I'm not sure what you personally would get out of having the same housing situation you currently have, only in Atherton, but I respect your dedication. Something that would go even further would be to support the More HOMES Act at the state level, which would ensure that exclusionary cities like Atherton build their fair share of housing.

When a city decides that it is only going to build just so much housing, it means that they are concerned for the citizens they have and their quality of life. Why should they bend to the will of a person who doesn't even live there regarding how many people they can handle?

When people move to any location, they should determine if they can afford to live there. It isn't the responsibility of the city to make costs less for some people. That is inherently unfair. Why should some people pay more for what others get for less? When did it become a crime to fulfill the American Dream?

Stop setting people against each other. There is nothing criminal or unjust about expecting people to earn what they get.
