Yet another squandering of VTA’s dismal firebox revenue. They already have the lowest fare box return of any Bay Area transit agency and now they are going piss away another day’s revenue. When are these idiots going to realize that a free $2 bus ride will NEVER sway someone to change their commute.

Thank you VTA. Too bad we don't have free transit on our Spare the Air days but money is short.

I believe this is penny wise, but pound foolish. The cheaper you can make public transit (hopefully nearly free) the MORE people will use it - the MORE successful it will be - the MORE you can tax gasoline to pay for it - which is the way it should be.

My apologies to all you driving monster trucks (4x4 jacked up, extended cab and long bed) and gas sucking SUV's with huge payments but you MADE that choice.

Warning: I'm prejudice. I don't own a car. I take public transportation everywhere and / or walk / ride my bicycle. So if gas has a huge tax on it - oi vey - such is life, eh?
