Parents rally against moving Egan to Mountain View

Original post made on Apr 12, 2019

A huge crowd of parents slammed a proposal to give the Egan Junior High School campus to Los Altos' growing charter school, calling it a bad deal that gives up the "crown jewel" of the Los Altos School District while getting little in return.

There is a common theme across all of these people who are upset and screaming about "closing Egan" (really, moving the Egan junior high population less than a mile away five years down the road). They are entitled Los Altos wealthy people. As this person states in the article, she doesn't feel safe sending her junior high (!) kids there and she did not envision this when she moved to Los Altos. Of course not. Or she would have moved to Mtn View and lived among the peasants. These people are marginalizing the supposed Have-Less that live on the other side of El Camino. It's pathetic. There is also a mob mentality going against the BCS community (parents, kids, and board members are all condensed into one group for this purpose). These people are at the top of the food chain and they will continue to push petitions around, harass the LASD Board and BCS, and fund potential lawsuits out of their own pockets until they get what they want- keep their children protected in their little bubbles on the west side of El Camino. This is all about entitlement, not really the BCS problem. If Egan were moved to Hillview, would they have this much of a hissy fit? Probably not. Think about it.

Uhh, yah...pretty sure this issue is about Bullis and their heavy handed, "Screw what the community wants" attitude. It's not like we HAVEN'T seen it all before from Bullis. It's the same thing all over again
Nice try! LOL :)

Dear Deflector, nice attitude. If this agreement doesn't pass for Egan to move to the shopping center, the district trustees will likely instead close several of the elementary schools and consolidate those kids at the shopping center school site. They can't afford to add another school. Let's see how much you will be laughing then.
