County earmarks $900K to help feed seniors

The Mountain View Senior Center is among 40 across Santa Clara County that will benefit from nearly $900,000 designated to provide more hot meals for seniors, Board of Supervisors President Joe Simitian announced Tuesday.

Also, provide 65 years of age and older homeowner-residents information to obtain assessment exemptions from the property tax bills. Our tax bills contain the contact telephone numbers. The money could be used to buy their food. The few hundred dollars would provide many meals at the $3.00 suggested donation.

@robyn thanks for the info, I qualify for the exemption.

Maybe we should raise taxes on the 1% to pay for social services. How much tax did Amazon pay?
