Why do I never see police patrolling these pedestrian areas by bicycle?

"Woman seriously injured following attack on Stevens Creek Trail"
Wasn't she injured during the attack, not following it?

@resident

I have wondered the same. My only (un)educated guess is that since the trail crosses city lines, people seem to think it's the Sherrif's responsibility.

But whether or not that guess is true, I have the same concern as you I fear.

@MV Resident - 100% of the trail is inside the Mountain View city limits.

What was this woman thinking walking on the trail after dark. Its common sense not to go on the Stevens Creek Trail after dark. Its not lit and you're easy prey after dark. There are all kinds of weirdos lurking after dark in bushes on the trail. The creek has always been that way since before the trail was even built. People have been killed in the creek.

Yesterday (Thursday) 2 motorcycle mounted MVPD on the trail. Maybe a sweep of the bushy areas would find where transients a staying. Also, I would never walk that area after dark. We are no longer safe!
