The organizers behind Day of Noise, an annual event by Stanford's indie FM radio station 90.1 KZSU, share the history of Noise, the ideas behind the event and the wackiest things that have happened over the years (they do not disappoint).

Thank you for this article. To create a community that takes on a life of it's own is magic. Abra hosts, Smurf engineers, countless others volunteer. This 24 hour live performance by 36 different artists is something spectacular. And think of the "noise musician"...To simultaneously alienate and inspire awe from your audience, a great and rare art. Local noise fans, many of us KFJC DJs, feel a special kinship with KZSU during Day of Noise every year.

I'm going to bring my 11 year old to check out behind the scenes at KZSU later this afternoon because that is just good parenting.
