State officials vow to protect public in PG&E bankruptcy proceedings

Gov. Gavin Newsom and other elected officials vowed on Monday to work to protect the public interest during PG&E Co.'s imminent Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.

Global climate change cannot be denied. Science cannot be denied. We need common sense in our government if we are to survive on planet Earth. The climate, wild fires, floods, storms, sea levels rising, are no longer "normal". When will we wake up?

No way they'll still be open on 1/30 unless the shutdown is over.

The major shareholders, likely public pensions and mutual funds, will suffer. So the public will suffer.
I guess protection for the public means continuous service, not financial protection.
Pass the popcorn, this could get interesting.

If you want to live in a danger zone, YOU PAY FOR INSURANCE OR YOU RUN THE RISK OF LOSS - NOT ALL OF THE TAXPAYERS. But politicians will just keep up the doubletalk and grand theft.
