Hello, what is wrong with renovation of the old building? Mountain View is drunk on new taxes and spending, spending, spending... a bigger building will bring larger staff and bigger government. Please make sure you bring in a better cafe, on site dry cleaning and all the benefits of high tech for our police officers. I am sorry but if we need to really build new cannot we look at cost effective alternatives? I think our officers to a great job so spend the money on them and not a fancy building.

Interesting.
We have a police station built in 1980 and it seems the council wishes to tear it down and build new.
on the other hand,
We have apartment buildings built in the 1950's and 1960's and some of the council members wishes to have a moratorium on demolition for these older buildings.
It reminds me of the old saying,
"Do as I say and not as I do."

The Library has gone through several renovations in the last decade and a half. We have built new a new fire station. They are rebuilding the community center entirely at Rengstorff Park. For a building that is decades old -- and one that is used 24/7 -- they should.

The existing location is poorly laid out and takes up too much space and is on prime real estate. Traffic is heavy to get in and out of there. How about they use the funds from redeveloping the existing site for housing/commercial and build at Moffett. Also loads of munitions storage bunkers at Moffett.

I guess the city council is looking for yet another way to waste taxpayer money. Who want to bet that they will want to do this to city hall next?
Scotland Yard has been updated once in decades of existence, yet we need new buildings every few years. More poor planning that the people end up paying for.
Meanwhile, we can't afford to get the RVs and junk cars off the streets or dozens of other things that we need. But don't worry, the council will have an attack of conscience and want to do something about that too, for which they will be reaching into our pockets yet again.
