Did the suspect call the ambulance for the victim, or someone else who was lucky to find the victim lying in the street? These kinds of hit-and-runs, leaving the victim seriously injured and alone on the street, need to be investigated and prosecuted like attempted murder. Hopefully this victim will fully recover, but victims of these kinds of crimes can easily die because the perp did help them after hitting them.

It happens so often! I see the same headlines every week. We need serious and deep penalties for all the lunatics behind the wheels of cars.
Lets find the SCUM who ran this man over with their car and left him for dead.

Lock them up, take their license, impound their car.

This driver needs to turn him/herself in! Unbelievable they would leave someone for dead not even concerned! I also see it all the time, runners in the middle of the road in dark clothing in the darkness of night, not well lit up or sporting any reflective wear. I'm not sure the details of this individual but it's not recommended to run in the road any time of day. You simply can never win that battle. The same applies to bikes that wander and swerve out in the roadway. I drive defensively through the neighborhoods and shake my head often at the arrogance of some of these individuals. Slow down and be safe everyone!

It turns out I know the victim. He was wearing reflective gear and carrying a flashlight. He is still in the hospital and the injuries are quite serious. Agreed that the driver should turn him/herself in!

I think there has been so much red light running around mountain lately that even if your in a crosswalk your not safe anymore. I wish they could have cameras at different intersections so when something bad happens the can catch it on camera.
