Three generations of my family have been Cho's fans (I'm the matriarch) following him from city to city, and celebrating his success when the big-time commercial restaurants kicked him out of Mountain View. My son, now an Army Colonel and JAG,who has traveled the world in the line of duty, made a bee-line to Cho's with his fiancee when he made his first trip to his hometown in 10 years. Nothing had changed, except the address.

In addition to great pot-stickers, pork buns,and shanghai rolls, Cho's also has a unique personality, the ability to remember our faces (as you note in your article) and to count change the old-fashioned way (no checks or credit cards allowed). He also performs his civic duty. I was surprised to see him helping out
at the polls during his"leave" from the pot-stickers several elections ago.

Congratulations on a long career -- and I hope there will be a farewell celebration
sometime during Cho'slast days of creating dim sum for all of us.

I feel a bit ridiculous that I've never heard of this place. Wish I'd have tried it. Oh well, there's always another place coming along.
