This is terrible. Postal carriers get little enough respect already for the vital work they do.

I believe they also have some special legal protections, though, beyond those of other citizens -- so that someone doing an assault as alleged here faces extra penalties.

I’m 64. I’ve never had anything lost in the USPS. THIS man needs to be jailed and hospitalized!!! Unacceptable behavior. !!!!

We were wondering what the commotion was about: fire truck, paramedics, and 5 police cars around a mail truck.

@Humble observer

Being USPS, I do believe it is a federal offense.

Agree that its unacceptable behavior. But hands are considered a deadly weapon?

Speaking of mail delivery, why is it that the mail comes at 8 PM now? It's kind of nice to get home from work and be able to pick up the mail, but now it's over 24 hours old. And how much are these postal people being paid to work outside normal hours? Is it time and a half? And wouldn't they rather be home with their families instead of driving around in the night? So weird.

That's an out of control raging lunatic. I guess he REALLY needed that Val_Pak coupon mailer.

Enjoy those federal charges! Looks like a home vacancy will be opening up in the area soon for those looking.

Mail carriers have great jobs outside exercise meeting great people. Amazon is screwing them

Regarding the late mail delivery...if they are short staffed on a given day, someone must do two routes, their own and the route of someone who is out. We've had some late deliveries also, but I am glad someone is willing to double up so we still get our mail.

a reason to commit a felony? Because that's what happened.
Someone lost their mind and physically attacked another. Jail time for the angry man who has no control of himself. Glad he didn't have a gun in his moment of insane rage.
