County first in state to have AEDs at every public school

Santa Clara County has become the first in the state to equip each of its public schools with automated external defibrillators to combat sudden heart attacks among young people, the county reported Wednesday.

"The organization has been active in adding AEDs throughout Palo Alto, East Palo Alto and the rest of the county."

This is confusing because Palo Alto and East Palo Alto are in different counties.

Installing AEDs at schools was started in MVWSD years ago, by a donation program. It is also important for ADULTS. There are now AEDs in the middle school/city shared sports facilities, and other places where adults may happen to be when they have heart attacks.
