Unhealthy air quality and fire risk trigger weekend outdoor space closures

Due to poor air quality expected throughout much of the Bay Area through the weekend and fire danger in some areas, a number of outdoor open spaces in the region will be closed this weekend.

Wait... the N-95 masks can have adverse effects for untrained users? Don't you just put it on and breathe through it? If not, where does one receive this "training". That was kind of a weird statement.

From the pics I recently saw of airline passengers putting the O2 masks over their mouths only, maybe that's the sort of training that needs to be done by some.
We also have to spell out for some that the hair dryer should not be used in the shower.
The mask goes over the nose and mask. Training complete.

N95 masks and respirators do require proper instruction to use. Do you know how to tell if it seals, you can't use them with facial hair, where precisely the straps are supposed to go? I see lots of people wearing them wrong and unless you get them fit tested you don't know if they are actually put on right. Safety devices aren't a joke.
