"whether to approve or deny a petition to launch a new charter school in the district."

It seems like the Bullis charter school application may run into timeout problems in the MVWSD. Wheeler and President Blakely were seen strongly pushing for delay at the last board meeting, agreeing with the Superintendent and the lawyer hired for this job. So, if Wheeler and Blakely and a third trustee start trying to delay the charter, it looks like the county board of education may in fact just be the best organization to oversee Bullis charter school in Mountain View.

We will see if Wheeler, joining up with Blakely and the Superintendent for delay, will get the district into irrelevance and later legal conflict with the new public charter school. That path of delay and conflict has been well trod by the Los Altos district over the last 15 years.

If you really want to be re-elected, you must really campaign. Incumbent Greg Coladonato seems to have been saying: like me or leave me. Most voters have no clue about how incumbents have performed. But thanks to Mr. Coladonato for his service on the Board. A lot of work for no pay.

Devon Conley will be a great Trustee. The fact that a newcomer leads the voting should show the Board that the community wants change.

I'm a little puzzled by the wording here:

"Longtime school board member Ellen Wheeler is expected to retain her seat for a fifth term on the Mountain View Whisman School District's board of trustees, while challenger Devon Conley took a lead over incumbent Greg Coladonato for the second seat, according to election results."

There aren't "first" or "second" seats here, and Devon Conley took a lead over both incumbents to win a seat, and Ellen Wheeler in second place is also taking a seat. The second paragraph gives the actual numbers but the first paragraph really kind of obscures this important fact.

Ellen Wheeler will always try "to take FIRST SEAT" if she is on the board.

Hopeful that Jose and Laura are out with the next round and the community figures that Ellen Wheeler is out for sure in 4.
