County officials weigh $222M youth psychiatric hospital

The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors is scheduled on Tuesday to discuss plans for a youth inpatient psychiatric hospital, which could fill a chronic unmet need in the region.

It’s heartbreaking that, at best, our children will have to wait another four years to have access to this level of psychiatric care. Stanford’s endowment is now $26.5 Billion Web Link yet their Children’s Hospital continues to send away any child who needs mental health hospitalization. And I don’t suppose Stanford will contribute anything towards the building of this proposed facility. Unconscionable.
