I know, let's raise taxes and let's pretend we will spend the money on transportation. Ha Ha

I appreciate the council expressing interest in transportation by raising taxes, after all, they don't have to pay it themselves.

BUT if they really want to fiscally responsible why not pay down the enormous city retiree debt which some day very soon will push the City into reduction of services (such as transportation) and possible bankruptcy.

At the moment all they are doing is raising taxes and spending it while doing very little if anything to reduce the debt.

Who amongst the candidates has any idea how to reduce our retiree debt ???

I could have sworn that there was just an article about how the egregious fees on North Bayshore development actually stopped the developers from continuing. And now there are more fees?

I find it to be incredibly irresponsible of the Council to further discourage housing development in Mountian View when it is so sorely needed.

Does the city council lay awake at night thinking of more ways to discourage people from doing business in Mountain View? It's no wonder afforable housing is on it's way out and businesses who have served the community for decades can no longer remain viable. We need to vote in a more business friendly city council, not a socialist one or soon we will have a community we do not recognize.

This is great news that council realizes the need for smart growth. It is long overdue for our city to address transportation issues. This will help housing affordability if there isn't gridlock everywhere all day long. Developers must contribute to the cost of congestion they are responsible for creating.

Smart. Let's tax new business in our city just because... Expect limited growth from here on out because of this. Look at San Jose, millions of square feet approved out at North First Street yet no one is building. Why? Outrageous fees to build what you want to build.
