County denounces proposed immigration rule on public benefits

Santa Clara County officials have denounced a new Trump administration proposal that it says seeks to impose "harsh immigration consequences" for the use of many public benefits and services.

"Under long-standing federal law, those seeking to immigrate to the United States must show they can support themselves financially," Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said in a statement. "

But this is true for many countries. If I want to move to New Zealand, for example, I need to demonstrate financial solvency. The United States is uber generous in providing benefits for immigrants. Implementing restrictions doesn't stop immigration, it just insures that immigrants who come to the US have jobs, or the ability to pay their expenses.

Oh! The “I” word was spoken and Voice moderator is already in censorship mode! No surprises there though. - They’re always determined to make sure that an honest conversation about illegal immigration does not take place. Its too bad. People that are secure in their positions are usually willing to listen to the other side but it never happens here.

Please make immigration benefits are as difficult to receive as VA benefits, at the very least.

The DSA county elected civil servants prefer to spend your tax dollars on immigrants vs. US Veterans.
