Immigrant detention centers 'a stain on America'

Original post made on Jun 27, 2018

U.S. Rep. Anna Eshoo met with immigrant mothers in a Texas detention facility this past weekend and said they were "filled with grief and worry" for their separated children, with whom they had had no contact.

Everyone in the Valley agrees that American democracy is in trouble and is mortally threatened by the illegitimate Presidency of Donald J. Trump. Our country's salvation is obviously to draw on the collective experience in Democratic governance of countries like Mexico, El Salvador and Guatemala. Their experience in running gang-free, drugs-free and corruption-free society will be invaluable!

How fortunate it is that the citizens of these very countries are presently at our borders right now and are most eager to come here by the millions and help!

So, I am glad that Rep. Anna Eshoo is spending all her time and efforts on helping out undocumented Democrats to teach us about finer points of maintaining law, order and help out our Republic. What could possibly be more important than that? Budget? Jobs and Housing? Immigration reform? Decaying Infrastructure? This country Defense? Of course not!

The babies at the border story just moved to page two. The top story now is that Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced that he is retiring after 31 years effective July 31. Is there a Republican U.S. Senator who will vote against Trump's nominee to fill the seat? It will come up for a vote well before the November 6 mid-term elections.

Oh, what a comedian you are. You think the GOP cared about any of the issues you mention? Do you know what they cared about? Passing a tax-cut bill that benefits the 1% and stiffs everyone else. Oh, and trying to deflect from -45's ties to Russia.

But go ahead and blame Eshoo...

"America's Stain": Your comment is a complete non sequitur. Corrupt government officials from Latin America are not lining up at the border hoping to set US policy. If anything, it is the ones victimized by this corruption who are seeking asylum.
