Although the current median home value in Mountain View is $1.5 million, not all homes are assessed at this value because of Prop 13. Families who have lived in Mountain View longer likely have lower assessed values.

The most recent data available from the Assessor for 2017-2018 indicates that the total assessed value of single family housing is $11,327,259,249, and the number of single-family parcels is 16,358, so that would come out to an average of about $700,000. Measure E would add a little more than $200 to a home assessed at $700,000.

I'm not taking a stand on Measure E itself, I just don't want people to interpret the statement by the chair of a political party to mean that everyone's taxes are going up by $500

Don't forget, Eric, that if we didn't have Prop 13, these never-ending parcel taxes and bond measures would be unnecessary, since we would adequately fund our services.

Skrzynecki incorrectly states that Judge Persky ignored the victim. Persky said, among other statements acknowledging the victim, “And the victim in this case was extremely vulnerable…“And as we’ve heard today, as I heard at trial, there was both physical and devastating emotional injury inflicted on the victim.” Persky also read some of the victim’s statements out loud during the proceedings.

Pittman says Persky’s supporters describe Turner’s actions as an “inebriated student’s momentary lapse of judgment.” Fiss says McManis “implied her drinking caused her assault.” That’s not true; McManis merely stated that Emily Doe had been drinking before she went to the party. McManis never said it caused Doe’s assault. According to the court documents, Doe had four shots of whiskey before the party—plus vodka and beer at the party.

Judge Persky didn’t make any of the aforementioned statements. Judge Persky is not responsible for what others say.

He protects rapists and pedophiles at the expense of victims. He needs to be recalled!

Vote NO on the recall

The commenter named “Bad Judge” has it wrong. Judge Persky does not protect rapists or pedophiles. Most of the cases the recall proponents claimed showed bias were plea deals between the defense and prosecutors. Also, the Commision on Judicial Performance and other credible organizations have investigated or reviewed Judge Persky’s cases and found no evidence of bias or wrongdoing.

Judge Persky is an exemplary judge who follows the rule of law instead of Twitter or Facebook sentiments.
