When Bay Area cities, especially San Francisco and those on the Peninsula, approve massive additional office development without housing to accommodate all the new workers, the natural result is longer commutes and unbearable traffic.

Tolls are regressive. So is the sales tax. The corporations should be paying - but never will. They have rentless lobbyists such as the "Silicon Valley Leadership Group." Corporate executives wield the wealth of the corporations and invest in politics and politicians.

Property taxes should be paying for all of this, just as it does in every other place with a sane property tax system.

This is a bad idea. Every year, there is a tax or fee increase to pay for boondoggle projects. Nobody was held accountable when MTC pissed away toll revenue on a Taj Mahal headquarters in San Francisco.
