Question for Director Kremen:
How will these 650M affect Mountain View residents' property taxes and/or water bills? -keeping in mind that Mountain View gets only 10% of its water from the County Water District-

Of course Southern California wants this project. Most of the water will be flowing south. “Now that you’ve got all this extra water, send it out way so we can continue to over build!” So sad.

@Old Guy
If California was overbuilding there wouldn't be a housing crisis.

"It's a question of whether we participate or we don't participate." $650 million? Wow! Talk about Pay-to-Play! I can't wait to see what water bill increase is "required" over the next 5 years just to have a seat at the table. How about making OUR (tax-dollar) support contingent on the project serving some SCVWD needs? The SCVWD board didn't even get a Pay-to-Play deal. They got a Pay-to-Sit-On-The-Bench-But-Isn't-It-Great--You're-Part-of-The-Team-and-Can-Run-for-Another-Elected-Office deal.

The local Water District may be liable for far more than $650 million. The District is partnering with other local government that may end up spending twice the money now estimated - only to be sued for billions when the Delta is destroyed.

As a retail user of water from the San Francisco PUC's Hetch Hetchy system, will I be responsible for the SCVWD's wholesale water cost increases? (SRB's question)
Voice reporter, do you know, can you get the answer for us?
Since my property only benefits from the Water District's flood control, and not a drop from their water supply, I assume/hope that neither my fixed costs or water supply rates would be affected.
