Overnight closure scheduled on U.S. Highway 101

To allow construction work on a pedestrian and bicycle bridge across U.S. Highway 101 in East Palo Alto, Caltrans will close a section of southbound lanes starting Wednesday night and ending in the early hours of Thursday.

Any idea whether this will be the only time 101 will be closed in that area for this project?

I can't understand why a ped bridge takes > 1 year to complete. they build this kind of bridges in a month in other places in the world.

Corruption? Incompetent contractor? Every project on 101 near Palo Alto has been embarrassingly slow. A small bridge took them 1.5 years. Chinese workers could pro slay do it in 2 days if palmed well. Just unprofessional how they blocked 2 lanes and do nothing for weeks in between.
