Good for AAA, but why would someone want to drive to go drinking on Cinco de Mayo, that's just dumb. Take a cab, carpool, Uber, Lyft, whatever, it'll be a lot cheaper and less hassle than a "free" tow.

Because not everyone is supremely disciplined to plan ahead. There are probably a few who say "Just one drink" (or none) but end up having more due to sloppiness, lack of willpower, carelessness, whatever.

Note that a free tow is technically cheaper than an Uber/Lyft/taxi/public transit, albeit more of a hassle.

Either way, it's still an alternative to letting the person drive impaired.

Not everyone is responsible 100% of the time. This is a sensible offering by AAA.

Does Lyft/Uber have surge pricing on popular DUI days? Just wondering.
