Public agencies prepare for flooding, debris flows as major storm approaches

Government agencies throughout the Bay Area are doing their part to get ready for heavy rains expected Friday and Saturday, brought to the California coast by a phenomenon known as an "atmospheric river."

Here we are on Saturday, with the sun out, and all our grass fields closed. No soccer games, etc. Anyone else feel like the city's reaction to this storm was a bit overdone? (or that maybe our infrastructure needs to be just a wee bit more tolerant of weather events like this)

I wonder if this article is talking about Thursday, 4/12 and beyond, but was just unclear which weekend it was referring to.
