School district using your money to campaign for more of your money. is a registered user.

Look at the political advertisement online provided at public expense by the MVLA high school district.

@ Chris Chiang

As so often, your observations provide insight, but the solutions you suggest are laughable.

It is not the School Board's job to tell Ayinde how to do his job. He earns $234,700 per year and they voted to end his $57,000 "leadership coaching services" (not really ready for the job) contract Web Link

You think they should "warn him of community concerns in advance" and tell him "that selling school land to private development or moving half the district's principals and not including the community in the principal selection process would deeply concern many people"?

I don't think so!

Anyone with half a brain would understand this. (Does that mean that Ayinde has none?)

He has shown he is incapable of doing his job properly and should be removed before he does further harm!

Fire him indeed. He’s no leader. And he takes all his cues and coaching from former MVWSD disgraced superintendent Maurice Ghysels. We’ve seen them hanging out together. It’s quite an incestuous group. How else do you think Carmen Ghysels got her last promotion? There is not an original thought or idea in Rudolph’s head. This is all about Team Ghysels.

And last week superintendent Rudolph did not even have the moral courage or basic leadership skills to show his face and tell Mistral teachers and staff in person what his plan or vision was for the future or dual immersion. We just don’t count. He sent his sidekick Carmen Ghysels (someone with her own baggage in terms of ethics) to confirm to us that the district is exploring a 50/50 watered down model of dual immersion. She informed us that there are already two candidates lined up for the new school model. One is from New York and the plant. You can bet the other is a puppet. The one from New York is a former colleague of Rudolph who will be shoehorned into the position regardless of community input. The candidate will even be supplied the interview questions. In fact, those of you who have been around here long enough will recall that was how Carmen got her first job at Castro under former superintendent Ghysels. Classic Team Ghysels. So… if anyone gets on the interview team, be sure to ask about conflicts of interests and links to Rudolph.

All of the above comes on the heels of the toxic and unprofessional work environment created by Rudolph who has never taken the time since he arrived two and half years ago to get to know the school or the community.

We also would like to see the school board look into the conflicts of interest, harassing behavior, and breaches of confidentiality that Jose Gutierrez and his substitute teacher spouse (Dr. Evil and Frau) have been engaged in over the last year and a half by meddling in Mistral’s fourth and fifth grade classes and maneuvering around the principal so that Rudolph could undermine her and the dual immersion program. And then there’s the way Gutierrez promised some parents of the Mistral PTA to put pressure on Rudolph to explain his position on not allowing recruiting tours. In exchange Frau was rewarded with thousands of dollars of PTA funds to work in the library. Dr. Evil is definitely playing both sides of the fence. You would think there were other disadvantaged low-income parents who might have needed the extra money.

Unanimous votes by the school board, uncritical evaluations, respectfully, I stand by my opinion that accountability rest in the school board. Who has a final say on every controversial decision facing the district right now? The school board that we elect. We can help our schools by paying closer attention to those we elect to represent us.

@Chiang: I believe your buddy Steven Nelson told Rudolph that development at old Cooper School site would not be well received in 2016. When Rudolph initiated the idea of teacher housing, you were still on the board. Did you not advise him then?

No worries, board members will not be re-elected if they continue to support Rudolph.
