Students Need Host Families

Public Service Announcement
Japanese Students Need Homes
in the mid-peninsula area March 24 to April 4

Hosting a foreign student is a wonderful experience, a chance to share your family values and learn about another culture. A select group of high school students from Japan will arrive on March 24 and need to stay with American families for eleven days. Host Families have no financial responsibility but to provide a bed, breakfast, dinner, and a sack lunch each day. No special arrangements are expected; these students expect to be treated as a member of the family and not entertained as guests. All students are completely insured. Students will be in programmed activities Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.

These students are 17 years old and curious about American life, and want to share Japanese arts, crafts, music and culture with their American hosts.

An interview and orientation before arrival will be provided for host families. Host families do not need to have children at home, but must consist of at least two residents related by blood or marriage. Student photos and applications are available to interested families.
