Maybe we need more robot vehicles so that police can efficiently take the vehicle and the suspect into custody at the same time. And when there are multiple fatalities, some will call for a long prison sentence for the negligent or evil robot. And other robots will learn that there are consequences to their behavior.

This crossing needs to be REMOVED. Not "improved". It is about 100 feet....100 FEET....to the well-marked, crossing with TRAFFIC LIGHTS at the Miramonte/El Camino intersection. Why is this crazy crossing even still here? This is absolutely insane.

$388,000 to improve something that shouldn't even be there! TAKE IT OUT.

Mountain View is one of the most dangerous cities in the south bay for pedestrians. Way too many self-entitled speeders and red-light runners that don't even look for crosswalks or pedestrians.

I've called MVPD many times to report vehicles blocking crosswalks and disabled ramps. I take pictures even. I've filed complaints. The few times an officer comes out, they will not ticket. One, an officer Wong, even asked me if I was able to safely cross the street. I responded, no, not safely, that's why I called. He still refused to ticket the car. As long as situations like this persist, the problems will only get worse.

Pedestrians don't always use the crosswalk and many times they are on their phones with headphones and unaware of surroundings. the stop, look, listen and then go that we were taught does not seem to apply when our head is buried in technology. I like the new law in Honolulu where you cannot be looking at your phone when crossing the street. Both Drivers and pedestrians need to step up.

Yes, peds and drivers must both step up. Pedestrians need to look before you cross and pay attention(stay off your phones).

By drivers stepping up, it means you MUST drive the speed limit and you MUST NOT use your phone, you MUST come to a complete stop at all stop signs before turning right, and you MUST use your turn signal.

We know this will affect the vast majority of drivers on the road, but it will help. I agree, time to step up people.

Car drivers love to blame millennial pedestrians on their cell phones for getting hit by cars. In reality, the majority of pedestrian fatalities are older people who are slower to cross the street and less able to dodge a car that is running a red light. Car drivers are the ones that need to put their cell phones down and pay attention to the road. Come to a complete stop at all red lights and stop signs. Thank you for obeying the law.
