The "not targeted" quote is taken out of context. What the CHP officer said is the perp is likely not specifically targeting Apple buses because they do not have Apple logos. However, a perp is likely targeting the tech commuter buses, either with a low-powered rifle or by throwing rocks. In response, Apple has directed their drivers to use Hwy 101 instead of I-280, but the CHP says the perp may just start shooting at Hwy 101.

We have friends who live in San Francisco, and they tell us that there is a huge amount of resentment and anger/envy from "locals" against the huge, impersonal, upscale buses with darkened windows that park and snarl traffic in SF neighborhoods. I've heard similar comments from friends who live elsewhere in San Mateo County. My guess would be that someone is attacking these buses with a pellet gun while driving by them on the highway. I hope they're not using real firearms.

I think the Chronicle reported that it was likely a pellet gun.

Does anyone know the outcome of the fatal accident on Shoreline last month involving a tech bus and a motorcycle? Who was at fault?

As a thousand-mile-a-week commuter in the six Bay Area counties, I find it unacceptable that anyone would target any moving vehicle regardless of weaponry. What we need is a mechanism to file complaints about them, They enter the freeway at full speed, and god help anyone who's in their way. They change lanes abruptly, pass at 70-80 and blow my little car sideways, and are beyond any doubt the worst road hazard I encounter. Can't we set up some mechanism to report them? A "How am I driving?" sticker would be SOP for most passenger-carrying vehicles, but these behemoths don't even have that. I thought the 18-wheelers were careless and inconsiderate until I started encountering these jerks. Does anyone know what agency is responsible for licensing these monsters? Somewhere that we can file formal complaints?

"Somewhere that we can file formal complaints?"

No Barb, just keep painting them all with the same broad brush, continue calling them names and making it seem much worse than it really is until things are to your personal liking.

@Barb J

I haven't seen anything like the behavior you described.

But then again, I commute only about a third of your thousand miles a week, and I drive in the counter-commute direction so I interact with the empty buses that are returning to pick up another load of employees.
