Firefighters surprise homeless kids with holiday gifts

It wasn’t quite Santa’s sleigh, but rather a Mountain View fire truck that arrived loaded with gifts for Christmas. Local firefighters arrived at Rengstorff Park on Saturday morning to distribute gifts to children living out of vehicles along Crisanto Avenue.

Wait, I am confused, when they towed the RVs a while ago and cited them numerous times before, I remember there was a mention of no children encountered in the RVs. ANd now there are 26?!

Let the record show that the Voice describes the RV dwellers as homeless. And not residents of Mountain View. So when a perp is described as "homeless" or "transient," the question of whether they live in one of the RV's is appropriate.

Thanks to our caring, thoughtful Firefighters for this loving action which made a meaningful contribution to these children. I can well imagine that their actions may be a memorable beacon in the kids' lives.
