Alert issued for contaminated salads shipped to Trader Joe's stores

Contaminated salads were shipped to some Trader Joe's stores in California and could cause health problems, officials with the U.S. Department of Agriculture said Tuesday.

Why do food recalls always happen after the "use by" date has passed?

Yes, isn't that VERY interesting. The recalls always seem to go out after the expiration date. The underfunded FDA is failing us. Rules are in place to protect the business, not the consumer.
