Guess his playing fast and loose with district money and that failed math program means nothing to trustees who do not want to look for yet another superintendent.

Luckily my children are adults and not subject to the insanity of the school district board members and this superintendent. I can understand why the board did not fire the superintendent when the background info came out about the math program fiasco -- I assumed it would be too costly to buy out his contract, but surely his contract would not be renewed. Wait -- that would be common sense!!

Since the superintendent apparently learned little from his leadership coaching, the board should demand a refund from the coaching company; enroll the superintendent in a different leadership/management program and require demonstrable leadership skills from it; and add an addendum to his contract to allow the school board to review his leadership skills in a year to ensure he actually has leadership skills and if not his contract is bought out at a reduced amount as he is not qualified to fulfill his contract.

If this superintendent is the best the board members can hire for the students of Mountain View then they should all resign. Our students are our future and they deserve much, much better than this sorry excuse for superintendent. The school board is not much better if they knew he needed leadership training and still hired him without enough oversight.

Super happy to have Dr. Rudolph staying with us for a bit, improving our schools and our teachers. Equally happy to keep Dr. Clark and the addition of some of the other new personnel the district has added. Getting to actually work with these folks, meet with them, work with them provides me with a clear vision of what we're doing in our schools and I'm so excited to have a kid in our schools benefitting from this leadership today. Good work MVWSD Board!

AND: Look at the TCOE (Total Cost of Employment) FROM: benefits + $220,000 (salary) + $57,000 (coaching) TO: benefits + $237,700 (salary). NET TCOE decrease of $39,300 !

As a 1/5 part of Dr. Rudolph's hiring school board - I totally support this 'three year tenure' and the percent increase that exactly matches every teacher's increase. My public comments to This Board *, before one of their closed session evaluations of the Superintendent, was that he had bombed TTO:Math, but had shown a knack (with his CBO Clark) for insightful administration of many complex community/schools problems.

The 6.7 percent is more a - good/OK job - but You Can Do Better! Teachers in their first years get a STEP Increase (on top of the 6.7 percent). The Superintendent did not get the equivalent STEP (hopefully for the TTO:Math curriculum mis-administration issue). Hopefully Rudolph will not stumble on curriculum/teaching administarion in the next year - and will earn a STEP increase in the next year(s).

Knowing what I know now, I would still vote to hire Dr. Rudolph.

It would be interesting what former board members Chiang and Lambert feel. MV Resident may find - her opinion is not shared and that instead some agreement on Dr. Rudolph is consistent and persistent across elected school boards ( & Cleave :).

Trustees are operating on another dimension. I don't think they have the best interest of the schools in mind. Then there is the Dr. Evil and Frau show. Frau has her job through nepotism and Dr. Evil wants a million dollars!

Some one please tell me why we have another Ghysels in the district office? It's just a matter of time before the chickens come home to roost in terms of the way the board has historically handled the poor decisions of its superintendents.
