The people in charge of our tax local tax payer funded hospital district are out of control control. We the taxpayers need to sweep them out of office and sell off these resource drains out of our district.

Exactly. How does a hospital in Los Gatos and a clinic in San Jose benefit the taxpayers of Mountain View, Los Altos and Sunnyvale?

Just what we need. A location with even more uninsured patients unable to pay.

The hospital receives tax dollars to provide specific community health services, which it does. Why should that prevent them from expanding to other areas? I'm so tired of listening to these red-hatted Republicans complaining about paying any taxes while demanding high level of service for themselves.

As a community, we should be much more concerned about the careless selling of guns and ammo. Why prevent a medical marijuana store from opening, yet continuing to allow gun stores to operate with impunity?

I think the issue is not taxes, but the amount and/or the need. I'm happy that the hospital is expanding, but if they have the funding to do this, it sounds like they do not need continuation of the locally paid tax. If they do not have the funding to do this and are using the taxes to offset some costs in any way, I would question the amount of locally paid taxes they need as it seems they have more than enough to support the local area as well as expand.
If they see our taxes as a way of growing their "Brand" in other areas in order to increase their profitability, that, IMO is mis-use of our locally paid taxes.

We can discuss many issues here on the msg boards, all at the same time, but not in every thread. This thread is for the hospital. There are other threads for any of the other topics brought up as well as a way to start your own if you wish.

I'd agree with the sentiments of @Liberal. This does not seem to me to make public policy sense. It seems just organizational 'need to feed' and expand the "El Camino Hospital" Brand!

Thanks to the Voice reporter for attending meetings, reading agendas and reporting the back-door way that this process is unfolding. ECHCD needs constant watching for what they are doing "behind closed doors"!

Legal - sure. Sneaky bad policy?
