North Bayshore a boomtown for cheaper housing — if it gets built

With the potential to more than double the city's affordable housing stock, Mountain View's goal to transform North Bayshore into a new residential neighborhood would be a game-changer for Silicon Valley's housing crunch.

Was there discussion of micro-housing? Smaller homes are not only in line with shifts in generational preferences, and more ecological, but are also the best way to lower the entry point of ownership.

People who buy micro-homes and move jobs can lease them out, and retain the equity. Thousands of additional apartments only make wealthy investors all the more richer at the costs of lower, middle, and even professional class renters.

Anyone who thinks micro-housing isn't livable should see units like this 309 foot unit in Hong Kong:
Web Link (and before anyone complains we are turning MV into NYC/HK, no one is turning Old MV into an urban center, but yes, maybe North Bayshore should be the urban center of the future, dense, not dependent on individual car ownership, and bold.
