Kids dive into tech at Google's developer conference

Google staff were still working on the finishing touches of the sprawling I/O tech conference Monday morning, but some 150 students from Castro Elementary and other local schools got early access.

Congratulations to the Google administrators who were wise and brave enough to aim this at the underrepresented students in STEM career tracks. More effort where this is more need and more upside potential. (a Google or Facebook engineer family, white or Asian is hardly underrepresented in local technology employment).

Kids that will not have a snowball's chance in heck to go to go to a $900 "summer coding camp" - get their own chance to see what the FUN can be (and it pays good dollars).
