You mean that it was a scam when I paid my old speeding ticket by mailing iTunes gift cards to Nigeria?

Honestly, I think this headline would make a greater impact on public safety:

County Sheriff warns of drivers speeding through residential areas, tail-gating, using cell phones, trying to get in front of everyone else, cutting each other off and/or blocking and generally acting aggressively behind the wheel.

The two comments thus far are sarcastic and insulting. Maybe you guys dodged the phone call or never received it, as did I. (I don't pick up a ringing phone unless the name on caller ID is known to me.) Others may not be as smart or perceptive as you, and hopefully this article will help someone, even if it's one person helping another avoid a scam. So I say thanks for writing it and reminding us to slow down and be careful. Maybe this article is suggesting that if you receive a call like this, find the phone number to the sheriff's department online (don't trust the one you've been given) and phone to verify what is being demanded of you.

Suddenly up to 2 calls per day. The 800notes website Web Link usually has up to date information on all phone numbers. A very useful tool to keep track of the " tools " using the Internet...

I've received this call. Hung up.

I get at least three calls a days from solar panel companies. Good lord they're obnoxious.

The one uses a toll-free number for caller ID. When you call it back it goes to PG&E.

You tell them to stop calling.. no effect. The next caller says he has no idea who called me the first time and will take me off the list.

.. only to have someone else call me the next day ..

I guess they do these calls because they work. So sad.
