VOTE NO ON B PLEASE.

They have enough trouble wasting the money they already take. No need to give them any additional funds to screw up.

To be honest, most people I have spoken to have NO idea there is a vote on this going on. Shouldn't this be on a standard election ballot where a large number of people are going to the polls and are reviewing all the issues?

like property taxes - it is extremely important that you mail so that a Post Mark will be stamped before 8 PM. Take it to the post office, before 5 when the windows are open, or into the slot (I think 5:30 may be the last postmark.)

8 pm at the county office outside dropbox is probably OK, but our city hall and other drop-offs will be closed - you would be out of luck.

Mail it in the AM, where it will get picked up and postmarked before Tuesday afternoon.

I voted NO on Measure B. As another commenter noted,
and I agree, the barrage of marketing material for this
measure reeks of a shakedown, highlighted by the remarkable absence
of salient facts.

Measure-B's purpose is to continue the taxpayer money
made available via a temporary measure passed in 2004
and renewed in 2008. Meanwhile, property tax revenue
has been increasing and yet, the MVW school district still needs
to raise more money !!

This is reflective of a culture of mugging the taxpayer
in the name of the children and avoiding the simple
fiscal pillars of living within one's means
and a transparent accounting of its budgets.


One would be wise to note that Measure-B is trying to
extend the taxpayer squeeze for 2.8Million, when we have
been squeezed to the tune of 198Million dollars for
4500-students courtesy the grossly misrepresented Measure-G
in 2012. Our property tax bills in 2016 reflected a nearly four-fold
increase in MVW ELEM OR UNIFIED SCHOOL BONDS due to this,
which will continue past 2040.

Without citizen action and oversight, this rot will
continue here and elsewhere into the future.

Dump the Superintendent and it might have a chance.

VOTE YES so the superintendent could get a huge pay raise and just sit around while others think the schools will improve.

Measure B renews local funding that is set to expire in June. It simply maintains the SAME level of funding that the district has been receiving for the past eight years -- Measure B does not increase funding to the district. A "no" vote will hurt Mountain View students; not the school board, not the superintendent. Please support our public schools and vote YES on Measure B.

Measure B shifts some of the cost from commercial property owners to small condo and single family homeowners. But with house prices still soaring, some figure this parcel tax is peanuts. With a low turnout in an obscure mail-only election, the measure will probably pass.

Worse than a shakedown. We had the previous tax for ten years and never even had a school I the neighborhood. This has already been tried. They had a ten year tax, and closed the school near me the whole time. Horrible scam!

I'm a no voter on B for the same reason as other commenters. This is a voter shakedown that will only benefit the school board and administration. How much taxpayer money was wasted on that math computer program and other boondoggles initiated by the administration? They try to scare us by saying it will "hurt the kids" - holding us hostage. The kids will be fine. Lets send then a message and vote NO.

I'm glad that it seems the majority of Mountain View voters realized that a $3 million dollar cut to our schools is pretty senseless. I'm thrilled that people got out in the streets and knocked on doors and made phone calls, raised money and got Measure B passed. I'm glad that we did it for the sake of the schools, our community, and our future endeavors at our schools. And I'm very excited to see the faces of some of these anonymous commenters here at our next task force or school Board meeting so we can hear their ideas, or get their participation in our school district and make our schools better for everyone!

Measure B Campaign

Congratulation Clive Frink on running your successful campaign. Your get-out-the-Vote effort (and the all-mail ballot), achieved participation to almost 30% of the electorate. Not particularly smaller than the June 2008 Primary election where the previous Measure C property tax won.

This election, there were about 10,300 participants, in 2008's June Primary vote, there were about 10,700.
In this election Yes was about 72%, 7,408 [No about 2,884]
in the 2008 one Yes was 80% 8,594 [No 2,083]

And the rules of this democratic process, 2/3 + 1 is enough to impose a new tax.
